2017 IWM Duxford Visit

On Wednesday 4th October 2017, Oak Class visited IWM Duxford as part of our Battle of Britain topic. We arrived to a bright, sunny morning with a keen breeze, but excitement was in the air as the children clambered off the bus.

We visited Hangar 4 which houses the Battle of Britain Exhibition. The children watched footage that was taken at the time and this added some context to the learning that has been going on in the classroom.

We were extremely lucky to see a Spitfire take off and do a few loops around the airfield. Some of the favourite parts for the children were the Land Warfare Hangar, going aboard Concorde and the Battle of Britain Exhibition.
