2018 National Space Centre 6.6.18

On Wednesday 6th June 2018, Oak Class arrived at school bright and early, eagerly anticipating their trip to The National Space Centre in Leicester.

The children explored the night sky in 'The Patrick Moore Planetarium'. They then travelled further afield, visiting the International Space Station, Mars and Uranus before returning to Earth. They also learnt about the origins of the rocket and watched explosive experiments in the ' It IS Rocket Science!' workshop. 

The exhibits in the centre allowed the children a 'hands-on' experience. They climbed the 144 steps to the top of the rocket tower, many preferring to take the lift back down!
