British Science Week March 2019

Oak Class marked British Science Week by spending a day participating in activities and investigations and thinking about the science behind them.

The activities included creating an aeroplane from two strips of card and a straw and a helicopter called a Twirly Bird. The children took part in a range of activities designed to test which was their dominant hand and recreated a pattern and counted the number of cubes visible from two different points.

Balance was the focal point when each child investigated a Wobbly Broomstick and spinning around for a count of twenty - lots of dizzy children!

Finally, the children discovered how fat can keep out the cold in icy water by placing two fingers in cold water (one covered in lard) and noted the results.

The day was fab. So much fun was had by all.
