Friday 24th April 2020

Well done...It's almost the weekend...

Learning tasks for Friday.

Spellings: Continue to practice adding the suffixes ‘tion’ and ‘sion.’ You can use slide 6 on the powerpoint below for some ideas of words.  (Spellings _Rule 17 tion, sion). Have they chosen the correct suffix?

Read for pleasure: Spend 10-15 minutes (or more if you want) reading something for pleasure. It could be a story, poem, play, information text, comic, graphic novel or online text/kindle/e-reader. You could also read to a younger or older sibling.

English: Free write Friday!

You know how this works. You can choose to write about whatever you want. Could be fiction or non-fiction…you decide the style, the purpose and the audience. You may want to start something new or continue a piece of writing you have already started. Remember to showcase your writing skills (grammar, punctuation, language choices). Don’t forget to include details to interest and engage your audience. I would love to see some of your writing, so if you can, please upload them to dojo.

Stuck for an idea??? How about using George’s marvellous medicine for inspiration. You could write a description of a really horrible relative (like grandma). How could you make them sound really nasty?

You could write a recipe for your own medicine creation. What effect would it have on the person who consumed it?

Maths:

I know we have some potential chefs/ bake off champions, so be adventurous! Get your siblings involved (if you have any). I'd love to see photos of your creations.
