Castle Acre Primary School

Jaya Dance May 2018

We were very lucky this afternoon, when Tina from Jaya Dance visited our school. She ran a super workshop with Rowan Class, which included teaching us how to say 'Hello' (Namaste), explaining the purpose of bindi and giving out a bindi for each child (and adult) to wear, teaching us a Bollywood-style dance, and dressing us up in Indian clothes. The children listened so carefully, and joined in with enthusiasm and confidence, which was lovely to see. We were all very interested to learn about the story-telling movements in Indian dance, and the children worked hard to learn the specific hand movements. Well done, all of Rowan Class, and many thanks to The Friends Of The School for paying for this wonderful experience!
