Today is the beginning of World Book Week and each day there will be a book related challenge for you to do.

Today's challenge is to design a poster to advertise your favourite book.  Tell your friends why they should read it!   Then ...

Watch the Girl and Robot film here  https://www.literacyshed.com/girlandrobot.html

Starter: write 4 questions in your book that you would like to ask about the film? Eg What is the girl’s name? Why is she…  What does she…  etc

We are going to be working this week towards writing a diary entry. Diary entries are where we tell how we felt and what happened in a particular day. We use ‘I’ because we are describing something personal that happened to us. This week we are going to imagine we the girl in the film.

Challenge: write how the girl felt at 5 different points of the story. Download the sheet  below as a prompt.

Where does our money come from?

Thinking about the letters we have been writing to different people to find out about the jobs they do, do you think they get paid for doing these jobs?

Think about the types of money we have.  How many different British coins and notes are there?  Can you name/recognise them?  You may like to check by downloading the British Money poster.

Are you given money?  Maybe you have been given some money for a birthday or Christmas?  You might be given pocket money, money for helping with different activities at home?  Do you help when shopping maybe by handing the money over or by checking the change? (You may have to remember pre-covid!)

Please download the purse or wallet or draw your own.  In or around the purse or wallet, write your ideas of where money comes from ie birthday money etc  Please also write a sentence about why you think a vet, a police officer or a football coach needs to be paid.
