Castle Acre Primary School

Steel Pan Workshop 28.1.19

Oak Class arrived at school wearing brightly coloured clothes, eager to participate in a series of activities and workshops provided by Irie Steel Pans.

The children researched the origins of Steel Pans before joining the rest of the school in an assembly where they listened, sang and danced to traditional Caribbean music.

They also created carnival masks and garlands which they proudly wore at the afternoon workshop. Each child (and staff member!) had an opportunity to play the Pans and heard more about the history of Steel Pan playing.

Please take a look at the photos in the gallery.
