Narborough Primary Academy

The School Day

DROP-OFF and COLLECTION TIMES DURING COVID-19

A member of staff will be on the gate to greet you and direct your child into school.

Y4&5 - 8:40am; 3:10pm

YR-3 - 8:50am; 3:00pm

Morning session: 8.55am - 12 noon (EYFS/KS1) 12.20pm (KS2).

Afternoon session: 1pm - 3.10pm.

Parents are asked to bring their children ready for a 8.55am start.  From 8.45am a member of staff is on duty in the playground for you to leave your child with us until school starts at 8.55am.  The school office is open from 8.45am and you are welcome to meet with your child’s class teacher if there is something urgent you wish to discuss - although we ask that if possible you leave your enquiry to the end of the school day where more time can be given to it.

If your child is ill please telephone the office, messages can be left before the start of the school day.

The register is taken promptly at the beginning of each session.  Children who arrive later than 9.10am should report to the school office to be marked present.  Latecomers are marked as ‘L’ in the register. If children arrive after 9.25am this is classed as an absence for the morning session and will be coded accordingly. Your child’s attendance at school is of great importance to us, consistent late arrival and absence is highly disruptive to their education and has to be reported.  If there are any problems preventing your child from arriving promptly or causing absence please do come and speak to us at the earliest opportunity.  It is really important to keep us informed of any changes that may be occurring at home so that we can support your child.

Unless children are staying for one of our after school clubs, children should be collected promptly at the end of the day.  If you are delayed in collecting your child (for example stuck in traffic) please do call the school office (01760 338048) and let us know.  It is expected that all children in Key Stage 1 will be collected by a parent, guardian or other nominated adult who is known to the class teacher.  If a parent wishes their child (above Key Stage 1)  to walk home unaccompanied a letter stating this permission will be required. A child will never, under any circumstances be released to someone who is not known to the class teacher.
