English

Today we are going to learn to plan a story based on the Pedlar of Swaffham. Watch the video on Class Dojo where Miss Mitchell will go through the story and show you how to plan your own.

You are going to have a go at creating your own story using the Pedlar of Swaffham. Change the names and places in the story to create your own. Rather than John  in Swaffham come up with a different name. Rather than going to London Bridge where could his dream send him? Rather than the man dreaming in London, what could John’s clue be to the treasure? Where is your character’s treasure hidden?

Download the planning sheet to fill in with your story. Have a go at retelling your story out loud.

Science

Today we are continuing to understand :

  •  how a balanced diet keeps us healthy
  • how the food groups are portioned to create a balanced diet
  • and how to  apply this knowledge when creating your own balanced meal

Look at the powerpoint Keeping Healthy which recaps the different food groups and how to create a healthy balanced meal.

Task 1

Complete the Balanced Diet Sorting Worksheet. Look at the different foods and cut them out and glue them on to the correct section of the plate. Alternatively you could draw the different foods on the correct section of the plate.

Task 2

Create your own balanced, healthy meal. Draw around a dinner plate and use coloured pencils or any other materials such as tissue paper to design your meal.
