Good Morning.

The 2nd Virtual Games Challenge is now on line. The information including the web link is on the main page of our Summer Term 1 folder. 

Spellings today are below ,please write  each one in a sentence.

Gryffindor/Ravenclaw:  research, unearth,  earth, heard

Slytherin/Hufflepuff:  warm , warmth , towards , ward

English for all

Today's focus is on speech punctuation and inverted commas.

Inverted commas are placed around direct speech to show what  a person is saying.

  • Direct speech ( or what is being said )should be sandwiched between inverted commas
  • There needs to be a comma, full stop, question or  exclamation mark  before the closing inverted comma.
  • Capital letters should be used at the start of sentences.
  • A new line should always be started for a new speaker.

Now have a go at either the Year 2 Inverted commas Challenge or Year 3 Inverted Commas Challenge.

Write the sentences in your books and punctuate correctly using  inverted commas and other speech punctuation.

Choose one addition, one subtraction, one multiplication and one division problem to solve in your books.

Think carefully which method you might want to use to solve each one
