Spellings: Rule 23:cial or tial?

Use the powerpoint below to revise the rule for adding the suffixes 'cial' or 'tial'. Then practice spelling some of the words on the last slide. Can you choose the right suffix? (Please don't do them all at once, 10 a day is plenty!)

Quick Write: 3 __ed sentences

Use the image in the powerpoint below to write sentences starting with 3 adjectives ending in ‘ed.’ Experiment with using different adjectives in your sentences. How does this change the meaning of your sentences?

Encourage pupils to practise their times tables by clicking on the link below. This will give 10 questions based around recall of the times tables facts.

  • Click on the daily 10 image.
  • At the top of the page, you should see 3 ‘choose’ tabs
  • 1st tab: Choose level 4 (year 4) or level 5 (year 5)
  • 2nd tab: Multiplication, Choose mixed tables up to x12
  • Then you should see a range of question intervals at the bottom of the page…can you try a quicker challenge?
  • Upload your score to dojo to let your teacher know how you got on.

 

You could also try selecting division to practice using your knowledge of times tables to solve related division questions.

Year 4:  Equivalent Fractions 2

Click on the link below to watch the video tutorial about equivalent fractions. Use fraction walls to find equivalent fractions, then learn how to find equivalent fractions by multiplying or dividing the numerators and denominator.

Year 5: Compare and order fractions less than 1

English: Embedded Relative clauses

Revise relative clauses using the powerpoint (Embedded relative clauses), and learn how to create sentences containing an embedded relative clause.

Then, use the ideas on your worksheet to practise writing sentences containing embedded relative clauses. (Note: there is a separate worksheet for year 4 and 5).

  • Remember to start your relative clause with a relative pronoun (who, which, whose, where, when, that)
  • Remember to use commas to separate your embedded clause from the main clause.
