Week 2 - Wednesday 10th June

Phonics / Spelling / SPAG

Please see Monday 8th June for the list of weekly activities and attachments you will need.

English

Today we are going to see if we can write our own new verse to the poem 'The Jumblies'.

You are not changing the verse completely but instead you will be swapping some of the key words for your own ideas. I have given you an example in the attachments.

Y1 - I have attached a copy of a verse with blank spaces for you to write your own choice of words. If you do not have a printer do not worry as this is a great opportunity for you to practice your handwriting whilst writing out the verse.

Y2 - Use the example of the new verse to show you where you where you will be adding your new words. Write out the whole of your new verse in your book. Try to think of some interesting word choices.

Remember your first idea might not always be your best so take a few minutes to use your imagination and think about where you might go and what you will go in to get there! Jot down your ideas or draw some pictures to help you.

Maths

Y2 - Spend 5 minutes playing the Fraction game. Start with level 1 then try level 2 and 3. Here is the link ICT Games Fractions

Y1 - Spend 5 minutes playing the Duck Shooting game to practise counting in 2's, 5's and 10's. Here is the link ICT Games Duck Shoot

Y1 - Click on the money powerpoint in the attachments. See if you can find the amounts of money in the jar by practising your counting of 2's, 5's and 10's.

Download the worksheet 'missing numbers'. Use your knowledge of counting in 2's, 5's and 10's to help you fill in the missing numbers.

Y2 Download the worksheet 'Y2 Fraction questions'. Have a go at answering the questions. If any of you find it tricky you may want to watch the video clips on Daily Bbc Bitesize. Here is the link Bbc Bitesize fractions

Topic

Watch the Powerpoint all about beach habitats. You will need to click on the link KS1 Beach Habitat Powerpoint then download it from Twinkl (the file size is too big for me to attach). Then download the worksheet, choosing the level that is most appropriate for your child. If you cannot print out the animal pictures you can draw them under the correct headings instead.
